He’s not wrong, and that’s why it’s egregious that the ref says Draymond was ejected for throwing Brandon Clarke to the ground. Full link: youtu.be/08vkS2W

FITZGERALD: "Because the contact in total was considered unnecessary and excessive which leads to a flagrant foul penalty two and ejection."
QUESTION: "What did you see that made the call a flagrant two instead of a flagrant one?"
FITZGERALD: "Well, there’s a couple things. The first part was the wind-up and significant contact to the face, and then the pull down from the jersey grab and throw down to the floor to an airborne vulnerable player makes that unnecessary and excessive. That’s what led to the flagrant foul penalty two."

The Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 117-116 to open up the second-round series on Sunday at FedExForum. And with that, their streak of 12 straight wins in best-of-seven playoff series after winning Game 1 is on the line.
That streak is the second-longest active streak in the NBA behind the Los Angeles Lakers (24 straight) and fourth longest in NBA history. It dates back to the first round of the 2016-17 playoffs and would stretch all the way back to the 2014-15 postseason if it were not for Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.

... and an LB. And a really interesting NCB. And two really good WRs. Ranking a deep and fascinating UDFA haul...
theathletic.com/
Dohnovan West, center, Arizona State
The 49ers didn’t draft a center, but they made sure they got a draftable prospect in West, whom they secured with a $10,000 signing bonus and a $100,000 guarantee. Brugler ranked West as the eighth-best center in the draft and projected him as a fifth-rounder.
At 6-3, 296 pounds, West doesn’t have imposing size. But there are plenty of NFL centers who are under 300 pounds — former 49ers center Weston Richburg played at around 290 pounds — and West’s 33-inch arms are good for a center.
He’s also light on his feet, leading the way on zone-running plays and able to reach linebackers and defensive backs down the field. Fans of the 49ers will like that he’s never been called for a holding penalty and that he played in 29 consecutive games before having an injured thumb surgically repaired after the 2021 season.
The 49ers, of course, are waiting on Alex Mack to decide whether he wants to play a 14th season. If he doesn’t, it sounds like Jake Brendel would become the frontrunner to start with West perhaps being his top backup.
Leon O’Neal, safety, Texas A&M
The 49ers did not take a safety in the draft, although O’Neal had a sixth- to seventh-round grade from Brugler, who rated him 20th best at the position. O’Neal looks and acts like a traditional strong safety, delivering big hits and getting into opponents’ faces after plays. He was an enforcer and a three-year starter for the Aggies with 16 pass breakups over that span.
However, O’Neal doesn’t stand out for his size (6-0, 204 pounds) or speed. Talanoa Hufanga, who might be the front-runner for the 49ers’ starting safety spot, is considered slow for the position having run his 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds last year. O’Neal is slower than that with a 40 time of 4.7 seconds.
We didn’t hear much about Deebo after the first day of the NFL Draft, but according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, nothing has changed on that front.
That’s all well and good, but there isn’t really much Deebo can do to make that happen right now. There’s a reason he went public with his trade request before the draft - it was his last, best chance to get moved this offseason. Now that that didn’t happen, the 49ers have no incentive to trade him before the season starts.
The 49ers have months to work things out with the draft in the rearview mirror.
Kyle Shanahan seemed pretty confident he could do just that on Friday.

The Giants lost 11-5. They dropped two of three to the Nationals. They're missing a lot of key hitters, but the biggest problem this weekend was giving up 45 hits in three games. Their next game is Tuesday at Dodger Stadium. | |||
