We now reportedly know what the Jets offered for Deebo Samuel, and it wasn’t exactly the king’s ransom that some speculated.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Jets offered the 49ers the No. 10 pick in the draft and a “pick swap later” for Samuel. As we saw earlier on Thursday evening, San Francisco elected not to accept that offer.
There was, however, a top tier receiver traded on Thursday, also represented by Deebo’s agent, when A.J. Brown was acquired by the Eagles for the No. 18 and No. 101 pick. More interesting, however, is the extension that the Eagles signed Brown to; $100 million over the next four years. That’s an average annual value of $25 million, widely speculated to be what Deebo is looking for.

Bednar dazzles in hitless outing for San Jose (April 27)
Will Bednar’s first three outings this season were good. His fourth was great.
San Francisco’s No. 4 prospect struck out five over five hitless innings as Single-A San Jose rallied late for a 5-3 win over visiting Modesto.
“I started out really hot that first inning,” said Bednar, who struck out the first two batters he faced and retired the side in order. “My fastball and slider were playing really well early on, and then kind of in that middle few innings, my slider lost a little bit. I was kind of yanking it or front-dooring guys, not really on purpose, and then that last inning, I really dialed it back in.” Full story »
Beck promoted to Triple-A Sacramento (April 26)
Pitching prospect Tristan Beck was promoted to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday after logging a 2.57 ERA with 19 strikeouts over 14 innings in three starts with Double-A Richmond. Beck, a 25-year-old right-hander who was acquired from the Braves in exchange for Mark Melancon at the 2019 Trade Deadline, was limited to only 12 appearances last year due to injury, but he has the potential to move quickly now that he's healthy.
"Dating back to Spring Training, he’s looked awesome," manager Gabe Kapler said. "Reports have been good. I’m excited that he’s getting this opportunity." -- Maria Guardado
