Walker excelled in this role last season, opening 13 games
for SF and posting a 2.21 ERA in those games.

This is the first time the Giants will use the opener strategy

Getting the start for the Mets will be Sean Manaea and he sits with a 1-1 record and an ERA of 4.12. In his last start against the Dodgers he went five innings giving up four hits and two runs.
