The best record in baseball #SFGiants play their next 10 games vs. three last place teams: at Texas (2), at Washington (4) and vs. Arizona (4), with a combined record of 67-111 .376, they don’t play a team with a winning record until they host the #Athletics on June 25th. @KNBR
Evan Longoria said he was diagnosed with a dislocated SC joint, which links the clavicle to the sternum. So the pain isn't in his shoulder. It's a weird injury and he isn't sure what to expect timetable wise. He's had X-rays but not an MRI yet.
Kyle Shanahan says it “would’ve been a hell of a deal” to have Julio Jones with #49ers but “I’m very glad he’s in the AFC.” pic.twitter.com/VHkLlgjt4z 6/6/21, 11:58 AM

-TOOK 3 OF 4 FROM CUBS AND MAYBE THAT HELPS THEM DECIDE TO MOVE BRYANT ......
Bryant should receive a contract worth at least the seven-year, $245 million deal the Los Angeles Angels gave third baseman Anthony Rendon after the 2019 season, several GMs and executives predict.
No one is expecting him to join the $300 million club considering he’ll be 30 in January and has been nagged by shoulder, wrist and hand injuries, but there’s a whole lot of teams salivating at the chance to grab him.
In a survey of baseball executives and scouts, there are seven teams that could be involved in a bidding war for Bryant’s services: the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals.
Bryant’s value has soared this year playing all over the field, while ranking among the league leaders in virtually every offensive category with a slash line of .316/.397/.607 for a 1.004 OPS through Friday. He has 13 homers and 38 RBI, ranking second in the league with 30 extra-base hits, third in total bases, sixth in RBI and seventh in runs.

-LONGO AND CRAWFORD COLLISION - NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT, THANKS SHIFT.

JOSH DONALDSON ON STICKY STUFF— NO YOU CAN’T CHECK THE PITCHERS—- MAKE RULES, ENFORCE RULES, ENFORCE PUNISHMENT.... THAT’S IT.
Here's the deal, hitters have never really cared about sunscreen, rosin and pine tar," Donaldson said. "We haven't cared about that because it's not a performance enhancement. What these guys are doing now are performance-enhancing, to where it is an actual superglue-type of ordeal, to where it's not about command anymore.
Now, it's about who's throwing the nastiest pitches, the more unhittable pitches. …This is going to be the next steroids of baseball ordeal, because it is cheating and it is performance-enhancing. The only way they get through it and to get it out of the game is if they get checked every half-inning. If a new pitcher comes out, they get checked immediately by the umpire.
“A lot of these guys that are not as good as their numbers are saying will be out of the game, They’ll be done. And that’s where it should be because guys are blatantly cheating and it’s not even funny. You’re talking about guys whose careers hitting-wise are going down as well.”
And the pitchers who are the best in the business, well, perhaps won’t be quite so dominant.
“Is it coincidence that [Yankees pitcher] Gerrit Cole's spin rate numbers went down after four minor leaguers got suspended for 10 games?" Donaldson said. "I don't know. Maybe. ...
“In 2017, there were four pitchers that had a spin rate on their fastballs of 2400 rpm or more. Now, that's league average. Think about that. You think everybody before 2017 was throwing the baseball wrong? No. In 2012, I think there were 700 sliders that were thrown at 90-mph or more. The league is on pace right now for 4,000. So, the better you can grip that thing, the harder you can throw it.’’
One GM says that the foreign substance abuse is so out of control that one of his pitchers even asked him: “Where can I get this stuff? Everyone else is using it.’’
The GM refused to help, saying it’s illegal, and that soon, plenty of pitchers could be exposed if they don’t cease and desist.
“Once they start doing that, it'll be gone,’’ Donaldson says, “and you're going to start seeing offense come back into the game.’’

-JULIO TO TITANS — SHOULD 49ERS HAVE OFFERED A 2 AND A 4 FOR JULIO AND A 6?? LIKELY CAME DOWN TO THE CONTRACT .... TENNESSEE WILL PAY IT ALL....
The 32-year-old future Hall of Famer is a Titan. The Falcons are sending Jones and a 2023 sixth-round pick to Tennessee in exchange for a 2022 second-rounder and a 2023 fourth-rounder. And as it turns out, the road getting there was longer than anyone on the outside realizes.
WHY HE ISN’T A 49ER:
-CONTRACT
-INJURY HISTORY AND AGE — HAMSTRING AND FOOT— 49ERS COMMITED TO FEWER INJURIES
- I DONT THINK IT’S COMEPENSATION - THOUGH A 2 AND A 4 — SHOULD BE CHEAP STARTERS FOR YOUR TEAM AND 49ERS HAVE A BUNCH OF GUYS ON ONE YEAR DEALS
DID THEY NEED HIM ? YES—-
ALBERT BREER:
The Ravens discussed a Jones trade with the Falcons prior to the draft, but pulled out of the running after taking Rashod Bateman in the first round, and never got back in. The Patriots never showed real interest to Atlanta in Jones, and the Raiders (perhaps for cash reasons) weren’t in it either. The Falcons did wind up talking to all four NFC West teams about a Jones trade, but never got a real offer from any of them.

49ERS:
-OFF SEASON IS LIKELY DONE — ERTZ SMALL CHANCE......
Name that bears watching if 49ers are looking for vet WR WHO CAN PLAY SLOT—
The Jets’ situation with Jamison Crowder bears watching. New York’s basically decided it can’t bring him back at $10.5 million, and drafted a slot (Elijah Moore) high in the second round, which gives the Jets the flexibility to move on if need be. I wouldn’t be wild about such a decision, because I think you want to give your young quarterback every advantage you can early in his career. But I do understand not wanting to pay eight figures for a guy who had 699 yards last year. And Crowder has to be careful here too, because at this juncture of the offseason, it might be hard to find whatever the Jets are offering in a paycut. (Which is also to say that if he shakes free, someone should have a shot at a nice bargain.)

CURRY 50/50 ON PLAYING IN OLYMPICS......
The NBA’s first round of the playoffs is complete, and a whole new crop of stars are now free to commit, or not, to Team USA for Tokyo. Tatum headlines that group, along with Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook of the Washington Wizards, and Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat. They join a pool that already included Stephen Curry of the Warriors, Zion Williamson of the Pelicans and Zach LaVine of the Bulls, among others.
There are two other big names whose NBA team lost in the playoffs, perhaps you’ve heard of them? LeBron James and Anthony Davis are officially on vacation, after the Lakers lost in six games to Phoenix, but neither LeBron nor Davis is expected to play for Team USA due to their terrible seasons of injuries, according to a source close to both players. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are on the list, but their Clippers survived Game 7 against Dallas (which has no American stars in the Team USA pool) on Sunday — the final game of the entire first round.
Curry, according to a source, is “50-50” on whether he takes his first crack at Olympic gold. Lillard is believed to have strong interest in playing, though no final decision has been made.
