A video shows San Francisco Giants team president and CEO Larry Baer knocking a woman identified as his wife to the ground during a fight over a cellphone Friday.
According to multiple reports, the incident took place at a park in San Francisco.
In the video, published on TMZ Sports, Baer's wife, Pam, screams "Oh my god! No!" while being knocked to the ground as her husband attempts to take the cellphone from her. The video also shows Larry Baer holding that cellphone while walking away.
Baer has been with the Giants since 1996 and has served as CEO since 2012. According to his team bio, he is responsible for the overall day-to-day functioning of the organization. He has been married to Pam Baer for nearly three decades, and they have four children.
ESPN has reached out to the Giants and Major League Baseball for comment. Baer also has not responded to requests for comment from multiple outlets.
HARPER FALL OUT:
BAGGS SAYS FARHAN LED THE WAY
First of all, Farhan was the leading advocate for Harper, not the other way around,” Giants CEO Larry Baer told The Athletic on Thursday night. “We wouldn’t have gone with it if he didn’t think it was a good baseball move. And we did believe this would have been a good baseball move.”
“Now, I think people know what to expect with us. We have stars on the field — (Madison) Bumgarner, (Buster) Posey, (Brandon) Crawford. In that sense, it’s different. With Barry, we were sending send a message.
“This (Harper negotiation) was an evaluation of a great player. I’m not so certain we needed to send the same message.”
What message would Baer send to Giants fans now? Does he believe this team, without Harper, will be compelling?
“Yeah, I do,” Baer said. “I don’t want to get too excited over any one game, but take (Wednesday’s exhibition). If (Jeff) Samardzija comes back strong, (Evan) Longoria is looking good … I mean, with or without Bryce, we need the core to perform, and that’s the infield and the catcher. And every sign is that all of them are looking in good shape. I do think the pitching is a strong suit.
“We knew there are a lot of other moves out there if we didn’t do this — a lot of small and medium and large moves in the coming years that this move would have preempted. And now we can turn our attention to those other moves.”
Some of those moves could happen prior to Opening Day. Some already have.
“Farhan likes working with a lot of balls in the air at once, which is awesome,” Baer said. “I look at the fact we put (Yangervis) Solarte, (Cameron) Maybin and (Gerardo) Parra on the team.
“We weren’t waiting around to be caught short if we didn’t get Harper for this year.”
Or the dozen years after that. Which brings us to one last pragmatic thought:
With sea levels rising, who’s to say the Giants will even have a right field in 2031?

The #Phillies signed Bryce Harper signed for $330M. Per @SportsTaxMan,
if the Giants wanted to match the “net” after-tax dollars, they would have needed to pay Harper approximately $340M due to the higher state taxes in California. Their offer, per @PavlovicNBCS, was $310M. |

I love to continue to push the limits on who I am as a person. Just the flow of life and the type of people I want to be around, the environment I want to live in. All that stuff will fulfill me more so than anything ... just building toward something that's sustained when I'm not even here on this Earth."
Durant is not expected to opt in to the final year of his contract with the Warriors, worth $31.5 million, instead testing free agency this summer.
"I know the NBA helped me get there, but I'm not going to be forever indebted to the NBA because this is a 50-50 exchange," Durant said. "I've worked hard to get here, to be at this level, and they gave me a platform to showcase what I can do. We both helped each other out. That's how I look at it."
