Two-game losing streak be damned, the Bucks are still my sleeper pick to win the whole damn thing. My look at why we've been sleeping on Milwaukee and how the power of joy - so rare this season - is making them more dangerous theathletic.com/855420/2019/03…

49ERS:

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT FA:

1. IT'S NOT THE CURE ALL --THE SAME TEAMS ARE HERE W MONEY EVERY YEAR AND THE PATS RARELY GET INVOLVED EARLY.

2. CAP SPACE IS FLUID ---IF A TEAM WANTS A GUY THEY CAN LIKELY FIND A WAY

3. LOOK FOR SCHEME FIT AND CONNECTIONS TO THAT TEAM - EXAMPLE --- 49ERS AREN'T LOOKING AT DEE FORD OR JUSTIN HOSUTON LIKELY --3-4 OLB'S --

ANSAH WAS DRAFTED BY MARTIN MAYHEW AND DL COACH IS FROM DET, DANTE FOLWER - ROBERT SALEH, SHAQ BARRETT - ADAM PETERS, PLAYERS CAN GET INVOLVED--RICHARHAT IN MIND. D SHERMAN COULD CAMPAIGN FOR EARL THOMAS, KJ WRIGHT, GOLDEN TATE. --WHO PLAYED FOR SHANNY IN ATLANTA, WASHONGTON, CLEVELAND, HOUSTON ETC.

4. PRIOTTIES: PASS RUSHER, CB, SAFETY, LB, POSISBLY WR.

5. IT'S LYING SEASON --KEEP THAT IN MIND.

6. ADAM SHEFTER IS WOJ. RAP SHEET IS NOT.

HERE'S WHO HAS MONEY -

Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC)
Again cap space is always fluid but here are the estimates we have for the top 10 in NFL cap room

1. Colts- $102M
2. Jets- $93.1M
3. Browns- $81.4M
4. Bills- $76M
5. Texans- $74M
6. 49ers- $66.7M
7. Raiders- $64.4M
8. Bengals- $49.5M
9. Titans- $43.4M
10. Cardinals- $38.9M

FAS

PRIORITIES:

2. GET SOME VETS AND YOUNG PLAYERS TO GROW W TEAM
2. YOUNG VET PASS RUSHER -FOLWER 26
3. VET FS  TAUSHAUN GIPSON JUST RELEASED BY JAX 28
4. CB TO COMPETE W/ MOORE AND WITRSPOON DARBY 25 --ACL
5. LB W/ RUSH SKILLS  BARETT DENVER

DARBY I KNOW OF NONE
BARRETT ADAM PETERS FROM DENVER
GOLDEN TATE WAS A SEAHAWK AND ALL OFF PLAYERS LOVE KYLE'S SYSTEM (KNOWS SHERMAN)

COULD NOT AGREE MORE:

San Francisco 49ers

With nearly $70 million in cap space, the Niners have the ability to make a number of big signings. They tried to gird themselves against that pressure by giving matching six-year contracts to general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan, but the truth is, they have 4-12 and 6-10 seasons hanging over them and need to make a jump one way or the other. -- Seifert
ILL FOLLOW BARROWS' LEAD:

Barrows: What I would do in 49ers free agency if I were Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch

MY LIST:

GIPSON WOULD BE MY FS.....

Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter)
So far today the Jaguars have released Malik Jackson, Carlos Hyde and Tashaun Gipson.

There are no plans to release QB Blake Bortles today, per source. Jaguars likely need to wait to make sure they procure a free-agent QB next week before moving on from Bortles.

9ers could add multiple pass-rushers with so many options available
One of the strongest defensive lineman draft and free-agent classes of the decade could be just what the 49ers need.

-GOLDEN TATE --GREAT RUN AFTER CATCH , VALUABLE ESP IN THOS OFFENSE --HE'S 31---BUT TEAM NEEDS LEADERS
-WOULD U TRADE FOR 32 YR OLD DESEAN JACKSON?

DON'T LIKE:

-FLOWERS--MOST GUYS WHO LEAVE NE AREN'T AS GOOD --HE'S JUST AN OK PASS RUSHER
-LAMARCUS JOYNER ---OVERRATED MADE 11M LAST YR

'S AN OK PASS RUSHER
Expected to become free agents March 13: Ezekiel Ansah (Detroit), Anthony Barr (Minnesota), Barrett (Denver),  Flowers (New England), Fowler (Rams), Markus Golden (Arizona), Bruce Irvin (Atlanta), Shane Ray (Denver), Preston Smith (Washington), Za’Darius Smith (Baltimore).
Expected to be drafted in the first two or three rounds: Bosa, Josh Allen (Kentucky), Rashan Gary (Michigan), Ferrell (Clemson), Sweat (Mississippi State), Burns (Florida State), Jachai Polite (Florida), Zach Allen (Boston College), Jaylon Ferguson (Louisiana Tech), D’Andre Walker (Georgia), Oshane Ximines (Old Dominion), Chase Winovich (Michigan).
Of the free agents listed above, several have ties to the 49ers. Personnel executive Martin Mayhew drafted Ansah in Detroit and new defensive line assistant Kris Kocurek coached him there. Another front-office executive, Adam Peters, was in Denver when the Broncos brought in Barrett and drafted Ray. (Ray was a first-round pick while Barrett went undrafted, but Barrett will be the more coveted of the two).
Finally, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh worked with Fowler in Jacksonville and Irvin in Seattle.

WHEN DO THE 49ERS HAVE TO WIN TO KEEP JOHN AND KYLE -- THIS YEAR CONTEND ---  7-9 WINS.

Steelers and Bills discussed a trade involving WR Antonio Brown, I'm told, but Brown was clear that he didn't want to go to Buffalo. Source said that there are "very few options left" for the Steelers/Brown.

-IF NOTHING ELSE FARHAN --PULL AN A'S--SIGN KIMBRELL, JONES, KECHEL AND TRADE THEM AT DEADLINE FOR ASSETS ........

UGHH

NOTHING WILL AND SHOULD HAPPEN --IT'S A FAMILY ISSUE

The San Francisco DA’s office is reviewing the case against ⁦‪@SFGiants‬⁩ CEO Larry Baer following physical altercation with his wife last week in Hayes Valley. No charging decision has been made.

ANY QUESTION HE'S GONE???

If the Giants were to trade Madison Bumgarner midseason, this is what a deal could look like

BOWDEN'S GRADE: HWO DID GIANTS GET A C???

San Francisco Giants
Grade: C

Offseason goals: 1. Hire a head of baseball operations 2. Get younger and more controllable
Key acquisitions:Front office: President of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi
Free agents: LHP Derek Holland, 1 year/$7m; LHP Drew Pomeranz, 1 year/$1.5m; LHP Pat Venditte, 1 year/$585k
Trades: Acquired 2B Breyvic Valera from Orioles for cash considerations; acquired RHP Jake Barrett from Diamondbacks for cash; acquired RHP Trevor Gott from Nationals for cash
Waiver claims: RHP Jose Lopez from Reds; INF Hanser Alberto from Orioles; RHP Merandy Gonzalez from Marlins; OF John Andreoli from Giants; OF Mike Gerber from Tigers

Minor-league signings: RHP Nick Vincent; C Stephen Vogt; C Rene Rivera; RHP Jandel Gustave; OF Gerardo Parra; OF Cameron Maybin; 3B Yangervis Solarte; C Hamlet Marte; C Cameron Rupp; 1B Zach Green; OF Anthony Garcia; SS Levi Michael; 2B Donovan Solano; RHP Carlos Navas; OF Henry Ramos; RHP Kieran Lovegrove; RHP Jamie Callahan; RHP Enderson Franco; RHP Keyvius Sampson
The best part of the Giants’ offseason was the decision to hire Farhan Zaidi as their president of baseball operations. Zaidi is one of the most respected executives in the game, and although the team’s rebuilding process is going to take a lot longer than most people think, they certainly hired the best person to get their organization back to the elite level that Giants fans were used to under Brian Sabean, when they won those three championships.
The Giants’ offseason from a player personnel perspective was nonexistent. They did make a run at free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper before he signed with the Phillies. However, their weak farm system and the fact their major-league team is not considered a contender made them nothing more than leverage in the process.
The Giants’ big free-agent signings were bringing back left-handed starter and occasional weatherman Derek Holland, oft-injured southpaw Drew Pomeranz and ambidextrous pitcher Pat Venditte. Their two biggest trades brought them infielder Breyvic Valera, Jake Barrett and Trevor Gott.
At least they got their leader in Zaidi, which saved them from getting an F.
