Warriors and Rockets are playing chess with their defensive switching — and Game 3 was a decisive checkmate

Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater)
Wrote about the Warriors failed hedge experiment, their quick correction and then maybe their best defensive night of the year, holding the potent Rockets to season-low 87.9 offensive rating theathletic.com/361980/2018/05…

WHY CAN'T BARKLEY LEAVE THE DRAYMOND STUFF ALONE:

Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes)
The Warriors were 7-of-11 with James Harden as primary defender. That included a combined 6-of-7 by Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. Golden State finished 8-of-14 (6-10 contested) against Harden.

GIANTS:

-THE OFFENSE IS GOOD---THE STARTING PITCHING NOT SO MUCH

IS THIS THE REAL BRANDON BELT?

Giants’ first baseman Brandon Belt was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday after batting a scorching .444 with five home runs and 11 RBI in his past seven games.
Belt also had a .500 on base percentage and 1.074 slugging percentage to complete his slash line for the week. His three-run homer against the Rockies on Sunday — Belt’s 11th of the season — broke a seventh-inning tie to lift the Giants over Colorado.

NFL:

WHY WOULD HE BE?

Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter)
Patriots’ QB Tom Brady will not be at the opening of the teams’ Organized Team Activities today, per a source, continuing his absence from the team’s offseason program. Today is the start of the Patriots’ voluntary OTAs, which Brady regularly has been a part of in the past.
