-DISALLOWED GAME WINNER FOR VEGAS:

Vegas Golden Knights scored what looked to be the game-winning goal in overtime on Saturday night in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series with the Sharks, and Jones immediately threw his arms up to protest contact from Jonathan Marchessault that knocked him out of position, the rest of the men in teal figured something was wrong — even as the Golden Knights poured off of their the bench in celebration and the sellout crowd went bonkers.
“Right away when we saw Joner react like he did — he doesn’t really react after goals, and he was pretty upset after that one,” Logan Couture said. “I was pretty confident that it was going to get called back. I went over to where the replays are (between the benches) and I saw that their guy made contact in the crease. I think a lot of us knew it wasn’t going to count.”
They were right. After a league-initiated review, it was decided that Jones, who was stationed in the crease, was spun around by Marchessault just before the Vegas forward swiped the puck over the goal line. Play resumed, and after the fourth intermission, Couture scored a power play goal at 5:13 of double overtime to give the Sharks a 4-3 win and even their best-of-seven series with Vegas at one game apiece.

BURNS GM 2:
Brent Burns finished with two goals and an assist on the night, six shots on goal, and 18 attempts. After struggling mightily in Game 1, and not looking any better in the first period of Game 2 including a turnover that led to William Karlsson opening the scoring, Burns was outstanding in the final two periods and the overtimes.

Evan Longoria started the year 7-for-47 (.149) with 1 HR.

Since then he's 14-for-39 (.359) with 5 HRs.

2B Alen Hanson: Contract purchased by San Francisco on 4/28. Hanson was the hottest hitter in the River Cats lineup not named Williamson this season, and his strong start earned him a spot on the Giants roster when Joe Panik when down with a left thumb sprain. Hanson homered in his first game for the Giants and was batting .403 with a 1.140 OPS at the time of his promotion.
Hanson was once a top prospect for the Pirates, but his progress stalled when he reached the Triple-A level. He didn’t hit much (.598 OPS) in 133 big league games with the Pirates and White Sox and there were questions about his maturity. Hanson is still only 25, however, and he’s a switch-hitter with gap power and above-average speed. A former shortstop, he’s made a smooth adjustment to second base. Older and wiser, Hanson has an opportunity to realize the potential he showed with Pittsburgh while Panik is on the DL.
OF Steven Duggar: While Williamson and Slater got the first opportunities, Duggar’s time in the big leagues may also be coming soon. After a slow start this April, Duggar is red-hot. He homered in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday and is batting .341 over his last 10 games. On the season, he has a .300/.398/.438 line with 13 walks in 20 games.
OF Chris Shaw: Shaw hit a 434-foot home run on Friday night, the third-longest homer by a River Cat this season. He broke a slump on Thursday with a two-hit game that included a home run and is 6 for 16 over his last four games with two home runs. Shaw’s strikeout-to-walk rate remains a concern (he has 36 strikeouts and only six walks), but the power is legitimate.
LHP Andrew Suarez: Suarez threw a dominating seven innings against Reno on Thursday, allowing a run on three hits and a walk. He struck out nine and threw 63 of 85 pitches for strikes. Suarez is likely to get a start for the Giants on Tuesday. He allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings in his big league debut earlier this month.
RHP Tyler Beede: Beede had a solid outing against Reno on Wednesday, allowing a run on five hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out five. Beede has gone exactly six innings in each of his two starts with Sacramento since being optioned back from San Francisco.
