NFL:

NFL ANNOUNCES 100M CONCUSSION INITIATIVE:

In an open letter on the “Play Smart. Play Safe.” website, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league also is establishing an independent scientific advisory board “to engage in a clear process to identify and support the most compelling proposals for scientific research into concussions, head injuries and their long-term effects.
“This is an example of how we will let science lead the way,” the letter continues. “We know there is skepticism about our work in this area. That’s why both the process and the results of our work will be shared with the medical community and the public at large.”
The announcement comes at a time the NFL’s handling of head injuries and the dangers of football are under intense focus.
A roughly $1 billion settlement to settle thousands of concussion lawsuits brought by former players has been making its way through the courts. Just days ago, the NFL and its players union announced separate probes into the execution of concussion protocol after reigning league MVP Cam Newton suffered a blow to the head in Thursday night’s kickoff game.
Goodell’s letter also hinted at further rules changes on kickoffs, saying “it is incumbent upon us to continue to track the data this season and study further options that may result in safer play.”
Owners approved funding for the new initiatives at their May meetings

TEAM VALUES:

Worst QB situations:

-Browns: RGIII, Josh McCown, Cody Kessler
2. Vikings: Hill, Bradford,
3. Dallas: Prescott, Romo, Sanchez
4. Eagles: Wentz, Daniel,
5. 49ers: Gabbert, Kap, Ponder
6. rams: Keenum, Mannion, Goff

Can it be fixed? The 49ers' actions involving Kaepernick indicate that they'll make decisions on football terms and little, if nothing, else. Gabbert is the starter for Chip Kelly now, and that isn’t scaring anybody. Ponder, signed when Thad Lewis got injured, is there as insurance in case Kaepernick exits, for whatever reason. Some insurance.
MORE: Releasing Kaepernick would be costly for 49ers

BRONCOS FINED:

Darian Stewart will be fined $18,231 for his illegal hit on Newton, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan. The standard fine for roughing the passer is $18,231 for a first offense. Brandon Marshall is facing a $24,309 fine for impermissible use of helmet, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. A fine for linebacker Von Miller has yet to be confirmed, but he is expected to face financial consequences. A hit on Newton by cornerback Bradley Roby is also under review by the NFL, according to ESPN's Jeff Legwold.

-KEENANA ALLEN ACL
-Jimmy Garapolo - 24 of 33, 264 yards, 1 TD, no picks, a 106.1 passer rating. New England 23, Arizona 21.

TOM BRADY HAS NEVER EATEN A STRAWBERRY:

“I’ve never eaten a strawberry in my life," Brady told New York Magazine . "I have no desire to do that."
What ? Why? How? Not even as a kid? Not even in a smoothie? Strawberries aren't even bad for you.
We already knew Brady has never tried coffee, which is strange , but maybe a little more understandable than strawberries. His wife, model Gisele Bundchen, loves strawberries, at least in certain situations. Her personal chef told Boston.com her coconut strawberry parfait is "one of Gisele’s faves."

So what's Tom's deal? Has he really never had a strawberry? American figure skater Ryan Bradley tweeted in 2015 he heard Brady scream, "that he likes strawberry margaritas." We're not sure if this is accurate, but Brady has said in the past his guilty pleasure is a frozen margarita. Unfortunately there was no follow-up as to what flavor.
