6 10 GIANTS PREGAME VS. DODGERS

TOPICS:

GIANTS: 8 leads blown after 8 innings this year -most in MLB

13 games left.....

-Does Bochy need an intervention? Sabean needs to tell Casilla he has elbow tendinitis ...DL time for a mental break before playoffs.

-DODGERS MATCH UPS:

-Bum vs. Kershaw - 1 hit on 5 IP at Yabkees - Dodgers won both meetings Bum v Kershaw on April 9 and 15

Kershaw at home: 10 starts, 7-1 1.38 ERA 73 Ks, 3 BB

Kershaw’s career numbers against the Giants are legendary, 18-7 with a 1.62 ERA in 34 games, including 33 starts, with 267 strikeouts and 40 walks in 250⅓ innings.
In nine September (or October) starts against the Giants Kershaw has been even better, allowing 10 total runs (eight earned), going 8-1 with a minuscule 0.98 ERA, with 81 strikeouts and nine walks in 73⅓ innings. That’s an average of over eight innings per start.
The only loss in those nine September starts by Kershaw against the Giants came on Sept. 13, 2013, at the hands of Bumgarner

has a 5.30 ERA in his last six starts, including a loss on Aug. 23 at Dodger Stadium when he allowed five runs in five innings. But his peripherals during that six-start slide are strong — 42 strikeouts and nine walks — so his FIP is just 3.45 over that span.
In his career at Dodger Stadium, Bumgarner has a 2.75 ERA in 95 innings, with 90 strikeouts and just 13 walks in his 15 games, including 14 starts. But this year the Dodgers have beaten him twice in LA, scoring a total of 12 runs (nine earned) in his 10 innings. He allowed seven runs in a loss at Dodger Stadium on April 15.

Posey 19-85 .224 2 HRs 16 Ks

Pagan 18-63 .286

-Cueto vs. Hill -Had a 0.00 ERA with Dodgers until Thursday - 3-0 20 IP , 20 Ks, 2 BB , 6 hits

ews: Hill (12-4) took his first loss as a Dodger on Thursday, giving up four runs on four hits and a walk while striking out eight in Arizona. (Thu Sep 15)
Spin: All but one of the runners he put on base came all the way around, so Hill had some tough luck in this one after leaving his prior start with a blister issue. He hadn't given up a single run in his first three starts with Los Angeles, which isn't a big surprise to his fantasy owners and A's fans, who've seen what he's capable of when healthy this year. Unfortunately, this was only Hill's 18th start, as the lefty has lived up to his brittle reputation.

Moore vs. Maeda

*Dodgers 2nd lowest bullpen ERA in majors

2nd half:

Runs Dodgers 283 (8) Giants 231 (29)
HR Dodgers 78 (10t) Giants 46 (29)

49ERS:

46-27 LOSS at Panthers--
Good: 7:51 left after Ginn fumble on KO and McDolad 75 yd TD, only down 34-27 ....
Forced 4 Tos
OLone looked good

BAD:
529 YARDS FOR PANTHERS
Benjamin and Olsen over 100 yds, Cam 353
Little pressure on QB
Missed throws, catches , tackles
Lack of talent shows on offense skill , Not sure about Hyde
McDonald big drop
Going to Seattle ...Though they cant score....

-Entire NFC West is 1-1......

RAIDERS:

-Two games, two teams over 500 yards of offense....
-Secondary is putrid Smith looks like wasted money
-Typical raiders loss----

NFL:

-Patriots down to 3rd string QB
-Peterson out for Vikes, Bradford shows up --Why didn't 49ers want this guy again?
DeMarcus Ware out 4-5 weeks with frctured forearm

COLLEGE FOOTBALL:

Cal tops Texas  50-43
Stanford not spectacular over USC 27-10 - at UCLA
Lousville and Jackson big win over Florida State  63-20
'Bama too much for Ole Miss
Oregon loses close one at Nebraska
-Ohio State tops Oklahoma 45-24
Colorado covers at Michigan 45-28
Michigan State over ND 36-28
UCLA unimpressive 17-14 at BYU

Washington at Arizona...

Game to watch in the North: No. 7 Stanford at UCLA and No. 9 Washington at Arizona are both very interesting in Week 4. Both teams have two huge Pac-12 North games following this matchup with a South team (they play one another in week 5, then Stanford plays Wazzu and Washington plays Oregon), so it’s a potential trap game on the road for both teams. But, I think on the field, the Cardinal will have a tougher time with the Bruins, giving this game a bit of the edge in this category. The Bruins want to prove themselves after giving up 243 rushing yards a four rushing touchdowns to McCaffrey a season ago, and they made a statement this past weekend by giving up just 23 rushing yards to BYU. --
