FRIED:
August 11, 2024
Fried did not factor into the decision in a win over Colorado on Saturday, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks over five innings while striking out nine.
ANALYSIS
Fried struggled out of the gate, allowing at least three baserunners in each of the first three innings, leading to five runs coming across for Colorado -- though only four would be charged to the lefty due to one of the runners advancing on a passed ball. Fried did generate 12 whiffs on the night en route to recording his highest strikeout total since June 4 against the Red Sox. However, he's now allowed four or more runs in back-to-back starts since returning from the injured list and has issued at least three walks in five of his last seven outings (dating back to June 17).
WEBB:
Strikes out eight for 10th win
August 10, 2024
Webb (10-8) earned the win against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over seven innings.
ANALYSIS
Webb was dialed in, throwing 78 of 110 pitches for strikes and generating an impressive 17 whiffs. Including a complete-game shutout July 31, the 27-year-old has allowed two earned runs across 21.2 innings during a current three-game win streak. On the year, he owns a 3.32 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 133:40 K:BB across 157 innings

RISP:
The Giants went
2-for-6 with runners in scoring position yesterday and are
3-for-24 (.125) w/RISP in this series…the Giants are 21-for-
129 (.163) with a .478 OPS since July 30 w/RISP...SF's .478
OPS and .163 average w/RISP in that time are lowest in the
National League and 29th of 30 MLB teams ahead of only the
Rays (.142 average and a .472 OPS w/RISP).
SF’s .232 season batting average with RISP would be the
lowest by a Giants team since the 2011 team hit .219 w/RISP.
