3- WARRIORS - SCHEDULE OUT
The Warriors are booked to play 24 nationally televised games — on ESPN, TNT or ABC — in 2024-25, they announced Thursday in conjunction with the NBA’s schedule release. Their season begins Oct. 23 on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers. Their home opener is Oct. 27 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Included in Golden State’s national slate is a Christmas showdown at Chase Center with the Los Angeles Lakers (5 p.m., ABC) and a Martin Luther King Jr. Day home tilt with the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics (Jan. 20, 2 p.m., TNT).
The Warriors have played on Christmas the last 11 seasons and on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 11 of the last 12 seasons.
Additionally, the Warriors are due to play 14 times on consecutive days — including five times at home, five on the road and four that feature home games and road games. Their longest home stand, a seven-game stretch, begins March 8 and concludes March 20. Their longest trip, a 13-day, six-game stretch, starts March 22 and finishes April 3.
Also worth noting: the NBA’s All-Star Weekend is in the Bay Area from Feb. 14 to Feb. 16, following a six-game trip for the Warriors; seven of Golden State’s first 10 games are on the road along with eight of its final 12; the Warriors will travel approximately 44,000 miles.

This is going to be emotional. It still seems wild to think about Thompson in a non-Warriors uniform. He’s a Maverick now, and we’re going to see how he manages his emotions in a return to the Chase Center. He won four rings with the Warriors, and they loved him as much as they loved anybody. The fans will go nuts, and the Warriors will give him a fantastic return. If we’re lucky, he and Stephen Curry will both go for 10-plus 3-pointers in the same game. This is going to be a big return. Don’t miss it.
