Per terms of the Marquise Goodwin-to-#Eagles trade last year, Goodwin reverts back to the #49ers, the NFL announced Tuesday.

The 49ers must send the Eagles their original seventh-round pick this year. S.F. now has nine draft picks. 3/16/21, 3:58 PM

MACKS, NUMBERS HAVE GONE DOWN, BUT HE DOESN’T MISS GAMES....AND KNOWS THE OFFENSE...(HE’S 36, MIGHT BE HIS LAST SEASON)

UPDATE:

Per source, the #49ers' deal with Alex Mack isn't cinched up quite yet -- "there are a few wrinkles that need to be worked out" -- but it's moving in the right direction. 3/17/21, 7:42 AM

*ESPN CALLS THE MOVE A B-

Trent Williams, OT, San Francisco 49ers

The deal: Six years, $138 million, $55.1 million guaranteed
Top 100 ranking: 1

Grade: B-

This is another tough one to grade, because the Niners needed to re-sign Williams at any cost, but a deal like this really stretches the phrase "at any cost" to dangerous levels. We'll see how it looks when the final details come in, but it appears interest from the Chiefs and other teams drove up the price to the point in which Williams becomes the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, because you can make the case that Williams is the best offensive lineman in the league, but he's also turning 33 in July and hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2013.

The Niners are still getting a deal on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo at about $25 million a year over the next couple of years, but that's not going to last forever and there could come a point in the next couple of years where paying a mid-30s tackle this much money hurts their ability to put together a quality roster.  (WRONG AGAIN)

Again, Niners team president Paraag Marathe is historically a contract whiz, and we'll see how hamstrung San Francisco really looks when the full details come in. But it appears the 49ers paid pretty dearly to keep the big man in the Bay Area. -- Graziano

-WILSON 33 IN NOVEMBER — AND A GOOD PART OF WHAT MAKES HIM GREAT IS MOBILITY AND ESCAPABILITY — HE’S NOT BRADY, HE WON’T BE PLAYING AT 40....

According to Dan Patrick, Chicago offered three first-round picks, a third-round pick, and two unnamed starters for Wilson. The Seahawks, obviously, passed.

The problem, from the Bears’ perspective, is that they hold the 20th overall pick this year. And if they have Wilson, the future first-round picks likely would landed in the 20s as well.

The only remaining question is whether some other team with a higher spot in the 2021 pecking order decides to make a similar effort. The Jets, for example, have pick No. 2. The Dolphins have pick No. 3. The Panthers hold pick No. 8.

Again, the Seahawks haven’t drafted a quarterback in round one since 1993, and they’ve only ever used a first-rounder on a quarterback twice. Even if they didn’t use the 2021 first-rounder from Wilson’s new team on his replacement, the 2021 first-rounder needs to be a lot closer to No. 1 than No. 32.
