-DEATH THREATS FOR TORNADO UPDATES DURING MASTERS

Ella Dorsey (@Ella__Dorsey)
To everyone sending me death threats right now: you wouldn’t be saying a damn thing if a tornado was ravaging your home this afternoon. Lives are more important than 5 minutes of golf. I will continue to repeat that if and when we cut into programming to keep people safe.

GIANTS:

John Shea (@JohnSheaHey)
The #SFGiants have never been no-hit at Pac Bell Park or SBC Park or AT&T Park or Oracle Park. German Marquez was five outs from history. Then Evan Longoria bounced a single between third and short, bringing a big cheer from the audience.

SHARK IS NOT BELT........

Julesyboy (@julesposner)
Got a new piece up on ⁦‪@ForbesSports‬⁩. I know most #SFGiants fans have taken sides in the "Belt Wars", but what side are you on in the "Samardzija Wars"? Also I take a look at a small mechanical adjustment he's made to try and win you back.

Andrew Baggarly (@extrabaggs)
The Giants on Sunday came the closest they ever have to being no-hit in 20 seasons at Pac Bell/SBC/AT&T/Oracle Park. Now they hit the road...and they have to hit more. theathletic.com/924623/2019/04…

-he Sharks and Golden Knights have played each another 17 times since Vegas came into existence last season, including the regular season and playoffs. In more than half of those games — nine now, to be exact — the Golden Knights have managed to take a 1-0 lead within the first five minutes of the first period.

Stone: Vegas’ best players are outplaying the Sharks’ best, and it’s not just early in games or periods, as Stone (3 goals, 2 assists), Stastny (2 goals, 3 assists) and Max Pacioretty (1 goal, 1 assist) combined for 12 points in Game 3. Stone finds himself atop the NHL leaderboard with six goals, while he and Stastny are the league playoff leaders with eight points each.

erik karllson: Karlsson, meanwhile, doesn’t look right either despite playing so well in Game 1. After taking multiple hits over the course of the last three games, it’s quite possible the two groin issues he dealt with over the second half of the season are adversely affecting his play. Although he’s the Sharks’ leading scorer in the series with five points, all assists, he’s also a minus-3 and has been on the ice for nine of Vegas’ 11 goals in the past two games.

JONES: Jones was even worse in Game 3 than he was in Game 2 when he was pulled after allowing three goals on seven shots. He now sports an unsightly .848 save percentage and 4.53 goals-against average in the series. While he’s still getting hung out to dry on occasion by his teammates, there’s still no reason to believe that Jones will be able to make any big, momentum-turning saves at any point in the game, either. It seems Vegas is trying to beat him high, and the Knights are having success doing it.

NHL:

The Columbus Blue Jackets , eight-seeded in the Eastern Conference, swept the first two games from the far-and-away best team in hockey, Tampa Bay, in Tampa, in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Columbus took Game 3 on Sunday as well. That’s why the NHL playoffs are so much more competitive than the playoffs in all other sports, and only baseball is close.
