Seven shutout innings for Stratton against the division leaders, with five strikeouts, in his second start back from a minor-league re-education trip. At the moment, nobody up in the #SFGiants pen. Bochy had a long list of reliever he wanted to avoid tonight.

The Giants won 2-0. Despite being sent down to the minors twice, Chris Stratton leads the starting staff with nine wins

WHY?

At CBS’ NFL Media Day. CBS Sports President Sean McManus just told me CBS NFL announcers will not mention point spreads, teams covering the spreads, etc, during telecasts this season.

There’s one game left in the exhibition season. The guys who play a lot in this upcoming game will probably receive bad news a day or two later. Here’s my final #49ers 53-man roster projection:

NEED A VET CB

#49ers coach Kyle Shanahan: "Jimmie works real hard. I love Jimmie as a player, and he’s very tough. He has gotten hurt a lot, but I don’t question any of those (injuries).”

OFFENSE
San Francisco 49ers center Weston Richburg was a key cog in the improved rushing attack, earning a 91.8 run blocking grade.

- Also creating space in the run game was fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Juszczyk had an 89.6 run blocking grade and finished the game with a team-high overall grade of 92.2.

DEFENSE
- Defensive lineman Solomon Thomas was sharp returning to action from a concussion in Week 1. Thomas had two run stops and one QB hurry which led to a sack. Thomas earned an 88.8 overall grade which was tops on the defense.

-TIM TOLD US LAST WEEK - OFFICIALS CAN'T ACCURATELT MAKE THIS CALL

Jaguars’ WR Marqise Lee is being placed on injured reserve today. He suffered knee ligament damage Saturday night vs Atlanta on a hit that some believe is related to NFL’s rules changes. Lee’s season is over.

Top of WR market has been due for a re-set. Top deal averaged just over $16M per year in 2011 (Larry Fitzgerald) when salary cap was $120.375M. Top average before Odell Beckham, Jr. was Antonio Brown's $17M per year. Cap is currently $177.2M.

A'S:

-SHOCKER BRETT ANDERSON IS HURT

Starting pitcher Brett Anderson #30 of the Oakland Athletics leaves the game during the sixth inning at Progressive Field on July 8, 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Athletics defeated the Indians 6-0.
HOUSTON — The pitching staff continues to take a beating as the final month of the playoff push nears.
Brett Anderson is the latest member of the rotation to go down, placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left forearm strain just one day after one of his worst starts of the year in Monday’s loss to the Astros. The left-hander’s injury also comes two days after No. 1 starter Sean Manaea was also placed on the DL with a left shoulder impingement.
