STORYLINES:

PREVIOUSLY:

The Warriors lead the season series 2-0. … On Nov. 10 at Denver, Golden State won 125-101 as Stephen Curry scored 33 points. Durant’s streak of 20-point games ended at 72. Backup center JaVale McGee came off the bench for 10 points in 15 minutes against his former team. … On Jan. 2 at Oracle, the Warriors won 127-119. Klay Thompson led Golden State with 25 points and Draymond Green had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists for his second triple-double of the season. Thompson, Curry (22 points) and Durant (21) had their 12th game with all three scoring 20 or more. Warriors centers Zaza Pachulia, McGee and David West combined for 22 points (9 for 16) and 15 rebounds.

STORYLINES:

Jokic vs. what’s left of the Warriors’ centers: McGee has played well since moving into the starting lineup when Pachulia went down, averaging 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 16.5 minutes. Defensively, Jokic will be a challenge, especially away from the basket. But McGee did all right against Memphis’ Marc Gasol last Friday. James Michael McAdoo and Kevon Looney are mobile enough to stay with Jokic outside, but can they defend him down low?

-LET DOWN: AFTER THE EMOTIONS OF SATURDAY NIGHT IN OKC - WILL THE WARRIORS BE FLAT?

-THE LINE: 2ND HIGHEST OVER

At the time of writing, Bovada was offering the OVER/UNDER for the tilt at a sky-high 239.5 – large enough to make it the second-biggest total of the 2016-17 season. Only the Warriors-Rockets game on January 20 had a larger number (242), and UNDER bettors ended up cashing in that matchup due to the 125-108 outcome.

-THIS IS THE 1-8 MATCH UP

-In those two prior matchups, center Jusuf Nurkic shot an impressive 10-for-13 from the field in 38 minutes for the Nuggets. However, the Nuggets just traded Nurkic to the Portland Trailblazers for center Mason Plumlee, who is not expected to play this evening. That’s a big hole for Denver to fill.

INJURIES:

Klay Thompson (sore right foot) and Shaun Livingston (baby on the way) won’t be available against the Nuggets. ZA ZA , WEST still out

Nuggets: Mason Plumlee - out; Danilo Gallinari - out; Kenneth Faried - out; Emmanuel Mudiay - questionable; Wilson Chandler - probable

NUMBERS:

Jokic vs. what’s left of the Warriors’ centers: McGee has played well since moving into the starting lineup when Pachulia went down, averaging 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 16.5 minutes. -OKC: Fans can act however they want - why judge> they are hurt by Durant leaving-they are fans - by the very difinition - they don't have to be rational.....there's time for that later.......all fan bases do it---If Curry left for Spurs - what would be reaction?

hunder-Warriors matchup was the highest-rated non-Christmas Day regular season NBA game on any network since 2013, with a 4.1 metered market rating, per ESPN.
The game rated particularly well in the Oklahoma City market, drawing a 19.5 rating, tops there for an ESPN/ABC game since 2012.

-Giants fanfest: Questions going into spring

BOWDEN PREDICTS GIANTS WILL TRADE FOR A LF: - I DON;T THINK THEY WILL UNTIL THE DEADLINE IF THEN-

The San Francisco Giants trade for a left fielder
The Giants have made it clear that Mac Williamson and Jarrett Parker will compete for their left-field job in spring training, taking the stance that they were not going to try to upgrade the position through free agency or a trade this past offseason. I predict they’ll change their minds and pound the phones until they can land an improvement over Williamson and Parker by the end of spring training. Trade possibilities include Jay Bruce of the Mets, J.D. Martinez of the Tigers, Brett Gardner of the Yankees, Ryan Braun of the Brewers and Marcel Ozuna of the Marlins.

-Steve Young having to defend his work w/ ESPN - He could anylze football drunk and asleep....PLUS THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT PEOPLE... RELAX....

KRAFT ON A WHITE HOUSE VISIT FROM THE PATRIOTS: - STOP IT ACCROSS THE BOARD - WHO CARES?

Mr. Kraft: “Well, you know what’s interesting, this is our, I’m happy to say, fifth Super Bowl in the last 16 years. And every time we’ve had the privilege of going to the White House, a dozen of our players don’t go. This is the first time it’s gotten any media attention. You know, some of the players have the privilege of going in college because they’re on National Championship teams, others have family commitments. But this is America. We’re all free to do whatever’s best for us. We’re just privileged to be in a position to be going.”

I'M NON BOARD WITH THIS - THOUGH ISN'T THE POINT TO GET IT RIGHT?:

Sources told ESPN that MLB wants a 30-second time limit for managers to decide whether or not to challenge an umpire’s call and is currently discussing that limit, along with other possible changes to replay, with both the players’ and umpires’ unions.
The current rules say that, in most cases, managers must “immediately” inform umpires if they want to challenge a call. But in reality, there are often long delays as managers often wait for advice from their internal replay assistants before challenging.
